The German Society for Nutrition stated that the deficiency of omega-3 fatty acids in the body can be inferred by observing some symptoms such as fatigue, poor concentration, forgetfulness, dry skin, dry eyes, muscle and joint pain, high blood pressure, sleep disturbances, and deterioration of wound healing.

The association explained that this deficiency can be countered by eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as avocados and nuts, such as walnuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, flaxseed oil and rapeseed oil, taking into account eating fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, mackerel and herring twice a week.

It is also taken into account to reduce foods rich in fatty acids (omega-6), such as beef.
