In celebration of the back-to-school season, the Etisalat Children’s Book Award, organized by the UAE Council on Books for Young People, with the support of “Etisalat” company, announced that government and private schools in the UAE will gift a set of winning publications from their previous sessions, with the aim of enriching the contents of their libraries, and encouraging students to discover fun Reading, and getting acquainted with the most important Arab literary productions addressed to them.

The books included various titles distinguished by the quality of content and direction, written, drawn and designed by Arab and foreign creators, and deserved to win one of the award categories.

The Director General of Northern Emirates Telecommunications, Advisor to the CEO, Abdulaziz Taryam, stressed that “giving the award-winning titles to school and public libraries is a habit that the wise Emirati leadership has been doing in book fairs and cultural forums, based on its keenness to build people and transform libraries into beacons of creativity, knowledge and innovation.” Therefore, the award was keen to continue achieving this goal by supplying school libraries with more distinguished books.”

He pointed out that the presence of these books in school libraries allows teachers and students to see the qualitative development in the level of the Arab child's book, and at the same time is in line with Etisalat's interest in launching and supporting initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children and young people and developing the services provided to them, as they are the builders of the future. He explained that any knowledge and intellectual support provided to them is an investment in a better future for current and future generations.

For her part, the President of the Emirates Council on Books for Young People, Marwa Al-Aqroubi, said, “The gift of the Etisalat Prize for Children’s Books is to celebrate the students and their return to the classroom after a period of study (remotely), we wanted to enhance their enthusiasm for reading and reading, and open up to them wide worlds of The pleasure of literature and knowledge, was chosen from among hundreds of titles competing for the award.

She added: “The books are distinguished by addressing important and attractive topics for students, some of which are derived from their social reality, and some of them instill educational values ​​in them, while part of them try to instill hope in their souls, and remind them of everything that is beautiful and valuable, and we hope that these titles will benefit the The imagination and intellectual and cognitive reserve of children, and provides them with everything necessary in order to be active elements in their society in the future.

The Etisalat Children’s Book Award was attached to the publications with a gift card, which carried expressions of motivation and wishes for a successful academic year, calling on students, teachers and parents, who might have the opportunity to view the books, to provide them with any comments, suggestions or ideas in order to enrich and develop the award process.
