Faithful to the attitude of moderation and responsibility that he has been maintaining as leader of the first opposition party,

Pablo Casado yesterday extended his hand to the Government

to collaborate on questions of State, which by their very nature should be placed above party interests , as is the case of the distribution of community funds

- through an independent agency

- to face the economic crisis through structural reforms.

Or in need of modifying

r legislation so that all communities can fight the pandemic with as many tools as possible.

Or in

the urgency of a pact on Education and a territorial one

, so that the separatists are not the ones who dictate the national policy.

In addition, at the beginning of the political course held yesterday in Galicia, as has been customary for the last 15 years, the president of the PP

rightly accused Pedro Sánchez of "arrogant"

for having ignored the opposition on such a momentous issue as the forced and rapid withdrawal from Kabul of Spanish troops and their Afghan collaborators.

As we are used to, Sánchez, who was practically

the last EU president to react to the tragic events and refused to do so in Parliament

Like the rest of his counterparts, he then took advantage of his public intervention to convey a triumphant message that was not at all in sympathy with reality.

Because although it is true that the Spanish military contingent knew how to solve quite effectively a situation in which the lives of many people were at stake, it must be recognized that

the Spanish mission - it should be said the Western mission, in general - cannot be described as successful.

However, Casado took the opportunity to present his "alternative" which he defined as

the "most radical government in the history of Spain and the European Union"

.

And he once again clung to the regional models that Galicia and Madrid represent, where

the PP has become the benchmark party of the center-right

around which the opposition to populism represented by Sánchez and his pro-independence partners is structured, who are already preparing for the autumn a new battery of demands in exchange for

your support for upcoming budgets

, taking advantage of the weakness of the coalition government, in need of secessionist votes.

But while it is true that the policies of the autonomous governments where the PP governs have de facto become an alternative to the

interventionism and fiscal anxiety of PSOE and UP

It is also true that Casado cannot close himself to any option that may be useful to capitalize on the appreciable wear and tear of the Government and prevent Sánchez and his partners from completing their program of national dissolution and deterioration of democratic institutions.

Because as long as u does not occur

a solid and effective union and a loyal collaboration between all the parties of the center right

, populism, independence movement and the political heirs of ETA will continue to impose their conditions on all Spaniards.
