Fewer new cases
were also detected
over the weekend
(a total of
15,489
), almost 8,500 fewer than last Monday.
This same trend can be seen when looking at AI data by age. The most affected age group, those
between 12 and 19 years old,
has reduced its AI by 121 points in three days, and the score stands at
417.83
cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Likewise, it decreases in young people
between 20 and 29 years old,
the other protagonists of the fifth wave. Its indicator has decreased 102 points over the weekend, falling to
312.94.
By autonomy, and taking into account that Cantabria and Castilla y León have not updated their data
this Monday,
Ceuta continues to lead in incidence (546.31), followed by Extremadura (468.80), Melilla (463.96), Cantabria ( 329.56) and La Rioja (320.09);
while Asturias (94.33), Canarias (150.19), Valencian Community (197.06) and Catalonia (204.07) are the ones that register the best data.
Low mortality and hospital occupancy
Mortality is low, although it is still very high.
Since Friday,
146 new deaths
have been reported
,
55 less than seven days ago.
According to the statistics of the Ministry, the number of people who have lost their lives due to coronavirus in Spain already amounts to 84,146.
Also, Health has reported this Monday of a slight improvement in the
situation in Spanish hospitals.
7,114 people are admitted to them for coronavirus (92 less than on Friday), occupying
6.07% of the beds.
The figure is also considerably lower than a week ago, when 8,330 patients were hospitalized.
In the
Intensive Care Units (ICU)
a similar situation is observed:
18.04%
are occupied
by Covid patients (on Friday the percentage was 18.37% and in a week the pressure in the ICU has dropped two percentage points ).
The autonomies with the ICUs most occupied
by these patients continue to be
Catalonia (33.74%), Madrid (31.69%), Melilla (23.53%) and Aragon (22.52%)
.
Asturias (7.05%), Murcia (7.78%), Galicia (7.82%) and Andalusia (11.08%) remain more comfortable.
These data only contemplate patients admitted for coronavirus.
To calculate the real occupation, we must add those found there due to other pathologies and surgeries.
In Europe, the worst figures are kept by the United Kingdom (696.6), Ireland (511.4), Switzerland (411.5) and France (405.1).
The countries with the best data are Poland (7.6), the Czech Republic (25.1), Romania (44.6) and Germany (137.3).
