In order to prevent traffic accidents on the school road, a pedestrian crossing that seems to have emerged using "trick art" that uses the optical illusion has been constructed in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture.

This pedestrian crossing was constructed in front of Chiyokawa Elementary School in Kameoka City and on a nearby city road, and today the people concerned gathered to unveil it.

When the police solicited ideas from university students to prevent traffic accidents on pedestrian crossings without traffic lights, they proposed "trick art" and it was newly used.

By painting the white line of the pedestrian crossing so that it casts a brown shadow, it is expected that it will appear to the driver as it approaches and call attention.

Today, the children started migrating immediately while volunteers and others watched over.

Kohei Yamashita of Kyoto Sangyo University, who proposed the trick art, said, "I'm glad that the proposal actually took shape. I want elementary school students to cross the pedestrian crossing safely without any accidents."

Hiroki Matsuda, Chief of Transportation, Kameoka Police Station, said, "I think that a novel idea will have the effect of paying more attention to the driver."
