After more than three months of courtship, nesting, spawning, and incubation, more than 20,000 little herons in Nanchang Xiangshan Forest Park have recently begun to migrate south to Southeast Asian waters.

As the great egrets, the "pioneer forces" of herons, arrived at Xiangshan Forest Park 5 days earlier this year, their spawning and incubation times have also been advanced accordingly. At present, all the little herons in the forest farm have hatched and their body size is close to adult herons.

The first hatchling of the Great Egret's young birds has grown up and has begun to move south to Southeast Asian waters. The next small egrets, pond herons, and cattle egrets will be based on changes in the climate, temperature, and food in the Poyang Lake area. Fly back to the south in batches. The entire migration process lasts from early July to the end of August. By March next year, these egrets will fly back to Xiangshan Forest Park to start a new round of breeding.

The Xiangshan Forest Park in the newly built area of Nanchang is adjacent to Poyang Lake. It has a forest area of 18,000 mu. The special location of the lake makes the park attract many migratory birds to inhabit and breed here every year, including egrets, herons, pond herons, and cattle. Species such as egrets and night herons form a unique forest migratory bird landscape on the banks of Poyang Lake.
