An exceptional batch of photos of Marilyn Monroe was offered this Friday at auction.

These are 11 photos taken by Hungarian photographer Andre de Dienes a few years apart, between 1945 and 1953.

According to the auction house Nate D. Sanders Auctions, which organized the auction, the photographer had met Marilyn Monroe when she was only 19 years old and had just separated from James Dougherty, her first husband.

Become Marilyn Monroe's neighbor

So many clichés which bear witness to the years when Marilyn Monroe had not yet reached the Hollywood glory that she was going to know in the 50s, in particular after having made the cover of

Life

magazine

in 1952. The star put an end to her days a decade later, at the age of 36. Her body has since rested in Westwood Cemetery in Hollywood, next to that of Jo DiMaggio, from whom she divorced in 1954 and who came to flower her grave three times a week until joining her. The baseball player had indeed bought these two vaults for himself and his former wife whom he never ceased to love.

If you are looking for your ultimate home, know that one of the vaults adjacent to that of the cinema icon is vacant.

According to the

Wall Street Journal

, composer Jerry Herman offered this location in 1990 to spend eternity, but his family preferred to bury him in New Jersey after his death in 2019. His daughter-in-law , Jane Dorian, is now seeking to get rid of it on behalf of her family for the modest sum of $ 2 million.

At this price, you will have for neighbor, in addition to Marilyn Monroe, the founder of

Playboy

, Hugh Hefner!
