Shizuoka Prefecture and others announced on the 29th that it was confirmed that 499 people were infected with the new coronavirus.
The cumulative number of confirmed infections in the prefecture is now 21,799.
Shizuoka City also announced that the death of an elderly male patient who had been hospitalized was confirmed.
The number of people who died in the prefecture is 167.
