A Saudi family pardons its son's killer and saves him from execution on condition... Video

A Saudi family decided to pardon the murderer of her son, in a crime that occurred about 18 years ago;

To spare him the execution, but stipulated that the offender be evacuated from within the city of Taif only, and that he should not come to the city permanently.

Pictures and video clips from a meeting dedicated to announcing the amnesty showed members of the victim's family in Taif announcing the amnesty for the killer in response to tribal mediation.

Muhammad bin Omar bin Humaid, one of the notables who led the initiative to pardon the killer, said, "In my name and in the name of all good people, we thank Muhammad bin Talihan al-Madhahabi al-Harthi for his abdication of Bandar bin Dakhl al-Arefi al-Harithi for the sake of God for free. May God make it in the balance of your good deeds, may God have mercy on your son and grant him peace May he rest in peace."

Bandar Al-Harthy has been in prison since committing his crime nearly 18 years ago, and he will have to wait for the end of his prison sentence only within the general right of the case, before releasing him.

And Saudi media said that the family of the dead man did not ask for blood money from the family of the killer.

The family stipulated that a mosque be built in the city of Taif in the name of its dead son, according to the requirements of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, and that it be handed over, within a period not exceeding a year and a half, to the ministry for full operation.

Saudi Arabia condemns the death penalty (retribution) to those convicted of murder, but many authorities led by princes, clerics and tribal sheikhs succeed in persuading the relatives of the dead to pardon the killer, whether in return for blood money or without it, while other cases end with the execution in a public square attended by the relatives of the dead person.
