On the 27th, a test transport was carried out on the Hokuriku Shinkansen to ship Ishikawa Prefecture's specialty grape "Ruby Roman" to Tokyo.

Ruby Roman, developed by Ishikawa Prefecture, is a high-class grape with large grains and sweetness, and is shipped to Tokyo as well as the prefecture as a gift.

Currently, it is shipped by truck outside the prefecture, but JA Zen-Noh Ishikawa conducted a test transportation this time in order to explore the use of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, which has a large number of trains and a short transportation time.

On the 27th, cardboard boxes containing 120 Ruby Romans harvested in the morning were carried to Kanazawa Station and carefully loaded one by one on the Shinkansen.

After arriving at Tokyo Station on the night of the 27th, Ruby Roman will be taken to a market in Tokyo and will be auctioned on the 28th.

JA Zen-Noh Ishikawa will carry out test transportation again next month, and will consider introducing full-scale Shinkansen transportation from next year onwards.

Toshio Shimizu, Deputy Director of the JA Zen-Noh Ishikawa Rice Horticulture Department, said, "I want many people to know about Ruby Roman through these efforts."
