  Luo Yilong said at the meeting that in response to the outbreak on August 3, the Macau SAR government launched the first national nucleic acid testing program on August 4.

After the completion of the national nucleic acid test, the bureau held multiple inter-departmental meetings, comprehensively reviewed all links, summed up experience and searched for deficiencies, and after listening to the opinions of all sectors of society and citizens, formulated a national nucleic acid test optimization plan.

  Luo Yilong said that if a nationwide nucleic acid test is required for another outbreak in Macau, the number of nucleic acid test sites will increase from 10 sites to 52, and 98 sampling points to 367 to facilitate residents. At the same time, the site settings will be optimized, and all sites will be set up. Nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal sampling is available for residents to choose from, and seven special care stations have been added to take care of the elderly, the weak, the sick, and the disabled, and the self-funded nucleic acid testing stations have been increased from 4 to 14.

  Liang Yihao, coordinator of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Disease Surveillance of the Health Bureau, said that if the epidemic situation in mainland China and Macau remains stable recently, it is planned to start at 0:00 on September 1. The validity period of the negative certificate will be relaxed from 48 hours to 7 days.

However, she emphasized that it is necessary to strictly monitor the changes in the global epidemic and adjust relevant measures in response to the situation.

  As of August 26, Macau has had no new imported cases and imported-related cases for 23 consecutive days, with a total of 63 confirmed cases.

There have been no deaths so far, and no community transmission of the new coronavirus has occurred.
