Cher and Val Kilmer loved each other madly in the early 1980s, and while the passion died out, the love took hold.

Asked by

 about their relationship, the interpreter of

 revealed that she "loved" and "still loves".

"I just wrote to him, and I said to him 'Valus Maximus (the nickname she gives him), I'm sorry if I did something that made you angry or hurt. I love you, and he there were lots of things in your documentary.
