Saitama Prefecture has announced that it will set up an "oxygen station" in Ageo City next month to administer oxygen to people infected with the new coronavirus whose hospitalization destination is undecided.

In Saitama Prefecture, the number of new infected people of the new coronavirus announced on the 1st exceeds 1000 every day, and the spread of the infection will not be stopped.



Under these circumstances, Saitama Prefecture has an "oxygen station" that administers oxygen to infected people whose blood oxygen saturation is 93% or less and which is judged to require hospitalization by the Coordination Headquarters until the hospitalization destination is decided. Was announced to be installed in Ageo City on the 1st of next month.



Fifteen oxygen concentrators will be installed at the oxygen station, and doctors and nurses will be stationed 24 hours a day, so the prefecture is aiming to install oxygen stations at three other locations in the prefecture.



In addition, the prefecture has announced that it will increase the number of accommodation facilities from 13 to 15 and install oxygen concentrators for 10 people in 14 of them.



In addition, a doctor will be stationed at the remaining one location during the day, and the policy is to provide "antibody cocktail therapy" to eight people per day.



The prefecture has decided to propose a supplementary budget bill totaling 56,120 million yen, which includes the costs of these measures, to the extraordinary session of the prefectural assembly to be held on the 27th.



Governor Ohno of Saitama Prefecture said, "There is a strong sense of crisis that the infection has spread so much that we have no choice but to install an oxygen station."
