“Abu Azal” is unable to pay 24,000 dirhams of rent arrears

(Abu Azal - 39 years old) faced difficult circumstances that led to his inability to pay the rent installments for the house in which he lives with his family members in the Emirate of Sharjah. (Abu Azal) Good people and merciful hearts extend a helping hand and arrange the rent amount.

(Abu Azal) told «Emirates Today» that his financial condition has worsened since November last year, after the (private) company in which he works suspended its activities and terminated his services.

He added that he is the sole breadwinner for his small family, which consists of four children and his wife (a housewife), pointing out that he previously worked with a salary of 4000 dirhams.

He indicated that he has been working in the state for 10 years in the private sector, and his life was stable, and he did not complain of any obstacles or difficulties, but last year he became unable to pay the rent installments for the house, until it accumulated on it and amounted to 24,427 dirhams, after he lost his job and became unemployed.

He added that he tried to look for a new job opportunity, but all his attempts were unsuccessful, and he was forced to receive some food aid, including food and drink, from family and friends, to feed his family members.

He added that the owner of the apartment in which he resides filed a rental lawsuit demanding that he pay 24,427 dirhams of rent arrears. But the owner insisted on paying the full amount.

He said that he currently does not know how to get out of this predicament, as he cannot pay any part of the rental arrears.

He expressed his fear that his family would become without a breadwinner, especially as he was threatened with imprisonment at any moment, in the event of non-payment of the claimed rent arrears, appealing to philanthropists and merciful hearts to help him pay the rent arrears.
