The play tells the love story between Xue Pinggui and Wang Baochuan. This TV series adapted from classic folklore not only has a lot of changes, the lines are modern, and even hip-hop elements appear.
"Xue Pinggui and Wang Baochuan" tells the story of true love between the prince Xue Pinggui and Wang Baochuan, the prince who lived among the people, and Wang Baochuan, who has gone through hardships and defies power.
During the reign of Tang Xuanzong, Yu and Liu Erfei fought for favor, and Liu Fei gave birth to the prince, which led to Yu Fei's murder.

"Previously, only the opera and Peking opera have shown the legends of Xue Pinggui and Wang Baochuan, but there are many incomplete and unreasonable stories in the operas. Therefore, in Xue Pinggui’s life, I’ve made a little effort to compile Xue Pinggui’s life. We also need to rationalize his experience and at the same time add new contradictions to the TV series."
