She said that as of the evening of the 23rd, Hong Kong's new crown vaccine had received more than 7.11 million doses, and about 3.95 million people had received the first dose of vaccine, accounting for 58.7% of the eligible population.

The proportion has not yet reached the level that can build an immune barrier for Hong Kong, and the rate of increase is narrowing.

  Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor pointed out that the number of people receiving the first dose of vaccine in Hong Kong has dropped to less than 30,000 per day, and the number of people who make appointments for vaccination online is only about 10,000, and the numbers are on a downward trend.

She reiterated that vaccination is still the most important personal protection measure. Hong Kong should have the same goal and promote vaccination in different age groups.

  She revealed that with the opening of school in September, the SAR government hopes that more school-age students will be vaccinated with the support of their parents and the arrangement of the school.

The SAR government will later announce the expansion of vaccination arrangements to cover students 12 years of age or older, so that they can go to community vaccination centers for vaccination without making an appointment.

Carrie Lam also suggested that people with children should assist their parents in vaccinating.

As for office workers, she believes that employees in some occupations will have frequent contact with others, so she also recommends that they get vaccinated.
