35 new confirmed cases in 31 provinces, including 1 local case

According to the website of the National Health Commission, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 35 new confirmed cases from 0-24 on August 23, including imported cases from abroad. 34 cases (9 in Shanghai, 8 in Guangdong, 7 in Zhejiang, 4 in Yunnan, 2 in Fujian, 2 in Sichuan, 1 in Tianjin, 1 in Shaanxi), 1 local case (in Henan); no new deaths ; 1 new suspected case is an imported case from abroad (in Shanghai).

　　On the same day, 96 new cases were cured and discharged, and 2,426 close contacts were released from medical observation. The number of severe cases decreased by 4 compared with the previous day.

　　There are 722 confirmed cases imported from abroad (including 8 severe cases) and 2 suspected cases.

A total of 8,139 confirmed cases, a total of 7,417 cured and discharged cases, and no deaths.

　　As of 24:00 on August 23, according to reports from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, there are 1,634 confirmed cases (including 19 severe cases), a total of 88,417 cured and discharged cases, and a total of 4,636 deaths. A total of 94,687 confirmed cases have been reported, and there are 2 suspected cases.

A total of 1,159,314 close contacts have been traced, and 35,246 close contacts are still under medical observation.

　　31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 9 new asymptomatic infections (all imported from abroad); 5 confirmed cases (all imported from abroad) on the same day; 20 medical observations were lifted on the same day ( 19 cases imported from abroad); 491 cases of asymptomatic infection are still under medical observation (405 cases imported from abroad).

　　A total of 28057 confirmed cases have been notified from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Among them, there were 12062 cases in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (11766 discharged from hospital and 212 deaths), 63 in Macau Special Administrative Region (59 discharged from hospital), and 15932 cases in Taiwan (13601 discharged from hospital and 828 died).
