A mountain lodge near the headwaters of the Kurobe River in the Northern Alps was found to be infected with the new coronavirus, and the lodge was temporarily closed until the end of this month.

According to "Mimata Sanso", which is located at an altitude of about 2500 meters in the Northern Alps, it was confirmed on the 21st that a male staff member who was mainly in charge of the hut at the mountain lodge was infected with the new coronavirus.



The male staff had a fever on the 16th of this month, and when he went down the mountain on the 20th and was examined, the infection was confirmed.



"Mitamata Sanso" will be temporarily closed from the 22nd to the end of this month because other staff may be close contacts, and the use of the adjacent campsite is prohibited in principle.

According to the Chubu Mountain National Park Management Office of the Ministry of the Environment, it is the first time that the infection of the people concerned has been confirmed in the mountain lodge in the Chubu Mountain National Park that straddles Toyama, Nagano, Gifu and Niigata.
