[Explanation] On August 23, on the track and field field of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chen Yimei, the 28-year-old captain of the Sichuan Provincial Disabled Track and Field Team, put on a sports prosthesis shaped like a scimitar, and then pushed hard on the ground to expel the remaining air in the receiving cavity .

After ensuring that the prosthesis was firmly attached, she stood on the track, ready to start a new day of training.

[Commentary] When Chen Yimei was 9 years old, she caused a high amputation of her left leg in a car accident.

In 2013, Chen Yimei, who had just gone to college, was recommended to join the Sichuan Disabled Track and Field Team and began her career as a professional athlete.

When I first started playing sports, I didn't have a sports prosthesis, and I could only do it with single-leg training.

The most memorable thing is to jump 100 meters on one leg, from the first 30 meters to 60 meters, to the last 100 meters, to the last 100 meters.

The process during that period was particularly uncomfortable for me, because it placed extremely high demands on the internal organs of my body.

In our daily life, if we don't pay attention to shaking the internal organs, we will feel a little uncomfortable, but I have to continue to shake 100 meters and add speed, which was too difficult at the time.

But after this painful process passed, I came back slowly and felt very happy. The hard work was rewarded. I got what I wanted, I felt the speed in my running, and the happiness in my running.

[Explanation] Due to the special shape of the sports prosthesis and the free and easy figure when running, Chen Yimei is affectionately referred to as the "Blade Warrior" by the outside world.

Up to now, she has won nearly 10 gold medals in world-class and national-level professional competitions. She is also the holder of two national records in the T63 (Physical Disability Classification Standard) women's 100 meters and rapid long jump.

It is a special honor for everyone to give me the title of "Blade Warrior", because the first time I heard it, I was very happy and very excited.

In my opinion, it may be a recognition from everyone. My prosthesis is like a blade, it is an arc.

As for the warrior, everyone may have seen this kind of running spirit in me, so I am very grateful to everyone for giving me this special honorary title.

[Explanation] In preparation for the upcoming National Paralympic Games in October this year, Chen Yimei now trains for an average of five or six hours a day.

Although she had not been able to participate in the Tokyo Paralympic trials due to childbirth, she said that she still regards being on the Paralympic Games as her highest ideal.

It's a pity that I have struggled in sports for almost 10 years, but I haven't been able to make it to the highest arena. Maybe I will have fewer opportunities in the future.

In the days to come, I hope I have the opportunity or I am gradually recovering my body, and then go to fight again (the Paralympic Games), and I don’t want to leave too much regret for myself, even if I can’t, but I have worked hard, and I do not regret it.

[Commentary] Speaking of the upcoming Tokyo Paralympic Games, Chen Yimei also sent blessings to the Chinese athletes going to the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

The Paralympic Games will begin soon. Although I cannot participate in this competition, although I have regrets, I also know the sweat and pain that every disabled athlete shed on the training ground.

Here I would like to wish our Chinese teammates a good result on the field and show our Chinese people's unyielding spirit.
