typhoon is coming up toward the Korean Peninsula. It is expected to land on the southern coast near Goheung, Jeollanam-do, around midnight tonight (23rd). Although it is a small typhoon, it is predicted that heavy rain of up to 400mm will fall in the southern regions along with strong winds.

Rain clouds continue to approach over the western sea, and Typhoon Ohmais is heading northwest of the northwest coast of Okinawa, Japan.
Typhoon Ohmais will pass the western sea of Jeju Island at about 9 pm tonight and make landfall on the southern coast near Goheung, Jeollanam-do at around midnight, the Korea Meteorological Administration predicts.
Omais, a small typhoon currently, is highly likely to transform into a temperate cyclone after landing.
Until tomorrow, localized heavy rain of 100 to 300 mm is expected in Jeju and southern regions, and up to 400 mm in the southern coast and mountainous areas of Jeju Island.
In the central region, which is far away from the course of the typhoon, it is expected to rain 150mm to 200mm at most.
In particular, strong winds of over 30 m/s and 100 km/h are expected to strike in Jeju Island and the southern regions in an instant.
The Korea Meteorological Administration urged thorough preparation, saying that it is expected that the typhoon will be at its peak between tonight and tomorrow morning, when the typhoon passes through the southern provinces.
