is the 12th typhoon Ohmais, which is moving north toward Korea from the southwest of Okinawa, Japan.

With a radius of 180 km, it is a small typhoon when classified by size.

Omais is expected to pass through the southern sea of Ieodo at about 3 pm tomorrow, pass through the western sea of Jeju Island at about 6 pm, and land on the southern coast at about 10 pm.

The typhoon will pass through Hadong, Gyeongnam at around 11 pm and pass through Daegu at 1 am the day after tomorrow, and it is expected that it will dissipate inland and become a temperate cyclone.

Until yesterday, the Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that the wind speed of Ohmais would be less than 17 m/s, which is the typhoon standard, when it landed on the Korean Peninsula.

A gust of wind of 30 m/s and 100 km/h is expected to blow in the southern region between tomorrow night, when the typhoon passes, and the morning of the day after tomorrow.

Omais is not a strong typhoon, but it is likely to hold a lot of water vapor and pour heavy rain.

From tomorrow to the day after tomorrow, 100-300mm of heavy rain is forecast for the southern part and Jeju, and 400mm for the southern coast and Hallasan Mountain.

Although the central region is outside the direct impact area of the typhoon, a considerable amount of rain is expected.

As the low pressure passes tomorrow, it will rain 50-150mm in the central part until the day after tomorrow, and more than 200mm in southern Gyeonggi-do, Yeongseo and Chungnam.

The Korea Meteorological Administration urged special attention, saying that it was a time when 150 mm fell in Gyeongnam over the weekend and sea level was high.

While a typhoon preliminary warning was issued for Jeollanam-do, Gyeongnam and Jeju-do, the government started the first phase of emergency work.
