The Egyptian Iftaa says its word in “The Part Time Marriage” .. And the followers: Since when was the marriage by the hour?

The Egyptian Dar al-Iftaa called for not to be drawn into the calls for the modernity of terminology in the marriage contract, noting that the requirement of being devout at a specific time in marriage and so on leads to the invalidity of the contract.

The idea of "part time" marriage has sparked controversy in the Egyptian street, and on social media recently, after its supporters considered that it contributes to reducing the high age of marriage, as well as the spread of the phenomenon of divorce.

While the largest sector, who are rejecters, saw that marriage is superior to these ideas, and made the woman a commodity to be bought for some time.

Some wondered: Since when was the hourly marriage a response to the owners of this new trend?

The Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa said, through its accounts on the communication sites, today, Sunday: “We should not be drawn to the calls for the modernity of the terminology in the marriage contract, which has increased in recent times, and which lies in its folds the love of appearance and fame and the destabilization of values, which creates confusion in society, and negatively affects the meaning of The stability and cohesion of the family, which our true religion is keen on and nurtured by the laws of the state.”

She added that "what some people do of giving new names to the marriage contract and stipulating that they be devout at a specific time and so on leads to the invalidity of this contract;

The legal marriage is what is intended for permanence, continuity, and non-timidity for a specific time, otherwise it is a forbidden marriage and does not have the effects of legal marriage.”

It is noteworthy that the Professor of Comparative Jurisprudence at Al-Azhar University, Dr. Ahmed Karima, had stated that the part-time marriage or the so-called “part-time marriage” is his idea attributed to a lawyer, and not to Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, as was rumored.

He added, “The conditions of marriage in Sharia are the compatibility of consent between the two parties, the testimony, and the naming of the dowry or dowry, and if these conditions are met, then this means that the marriage is legitimate, and it entails common rights of inheritance, cohabitation, and enjoyment in a legitimate manner.”

And he continued, during a recent television interview: “If the woman agrees to be a second wife and she agrees that the husband does not provide her with housing or that she does not spend the night with her, in this case the marriage is permissible, but we should not generalize this marriage;

Because not all families accept this matter.”

It is reported that the owner of the “initiative” of Marriage Part Time, lawyer Ahmed Mahran, had confirmed: “I challenge anyone in all of Egypt who can say that it is forbidden.
