The results of a recent study, published by the Journal of Cardiovascular Research, showed that there is a relationship between the consumption of certain foods and the risk of cardiovascular disease.

The Journal of the European Society of Cardiology confirmed that consuming a small amount of cheese, chocolate and yoghurt can contribute to the promotion of heart health.

Doctors indicated that a vegetarian diet helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, in addition to the fact that red meat should be abandoned, but fermented dairy products, such as yogurt, can help promote heart health, so the magazine advised eating 200 grams of yogurt. And 50 grams of cheese per day, to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

The results of the study also showed a relationship between regular consumption of small amounts of chocolate, and a reduction in the risk of cardiovascular disease.

She recommends eating between 20 and 45 grams of chocolate per day, although many researchers consider 10 grams to be sufficient.

The magazine confirmed that the “flavanols” in cocoa is responsible for protecting the heart, and therefore chocolates that contain a high percentage of cocoa should be chosen, unlike light chocolates that contain a small percentage of the substance that promotes heart health.
