On August 21, local time, the giant panda "Little Miracle" living in the US National Zoo in Washington celebrated its first birthday in local time.

The zoo held a special "birthday party" for "Little Miracle" that day.

"Little Miracle" was born on August 21, 2020 at the National Zoo in Washington, DC. Its parents are the American giant pandas "Tian Tian" and "Mei Xiang".

After the panda cub was born, it was named "Little Miracle" through online voting.

According to the panda breeder, the birthday cake prepared this time is mainly popsicles made of grape juice and apple juice, surrounded by carrots, pears, sugar cane, bananas, bamboo and "Little Miracle" favorite sweet potatoes.

Despite the epidemic, the zoo has imposed restrictions on the number of visitors.

On that day, quite a few people still made a special trip to celebrate the birthday of the "little miracle" by making an appointment in advance.

They sang "Happy Birthday Song" at the scene and expressed their blessings to "Little Miracle" and other pandas.

On the same day, Qin Gang, Chinese Ambassador to the United States, also sent birthday wishes to the "Little Miracle" via video.

Qin Gang said that the "little miracle" was born and thrived during the epidemic, bringing surprises and hope to everyone during the difficult period.

Under the common care of the Chinese and American people, the "little miracle" has grown from a baby waiting to be fed to a healthy and lively handsome boy. Its birth and growth have added a touch of color to the exchanges between the Chinese and American people.

Qin Gang also said that the number of members of the "Little Miracle" in the wild in China is growing, from more than 1,100 40 years ago to more than 1,800 now.
