The police in Blaubeuren (Alb-Donau district) carried out a mass genetic test to investigate a rape and two break-ins.
More than 270 men took part in it on Friday and Saturday, announced the Ulm Public Prosecutor, the city of Blaubeuren and the police on Saturday evening.
Another 60 men had already reported in advance because they were unable to attend on those days.
They had been offered alternative appointments.
The Ulm public prosecutor's office and the police rate the participation positively.
According to the police, there are also alternative appointments for the men who have not yet reported.
The first results from the genetic tests are expected in a few months.
Around 700 men from Blaubeuren and two suburbs had previously been called to take part in the mass genetic test in the town hall.
The investigators hope to be able to narrow down the circle of potential perpetrators for the break-ins and rape in Blaubeuren at the end of last year.
In October and November 2020, a stranger tried to break into a residential building in Blaubeuren-Gerhausen.
In December, an apartment building in Blaubeuren was broken into.
“In the apartment the stranger assaulted a woman.
When she woke up, the perpetrator immediately fled, ”said the police and the public prosecutor's office at the time.
The investigators found genetic material from one and the same perpetrator at the crime scenes.
The police assume that the stranger was between 41 and 52 years old at the time of the crime and can be found in Blaubeuren or the suburbs of Gerhausen and Weiler.
