This episode immerses the listener in the time of the trial, sometimes a source of relief and recognition for the victims of terrorism.

It is often also a painful stage which can trigger manifestations of anger.

The decisive issue: the message sent to the rest of society.

Did this trial do me any good?

Annie-Laure Saada, sister of a victim of the hostage-taking at the Hyper Cacher store in Paris in January 2015, cannot answer this question. In the opinion of many victims of terrorism, the trial is seen as an important step, but also painful. Because it revives memories of the attack. And because audiences do not always meet expectations. The trial does not always give the answers desired by the civil parties.

What does it mean for a victim of an attack to testify in a public trial?

In light of the recent trials, what messages do the civil parties want to convey?

What answers did they seek?

The victims of an attack can have a desire for revenge vis-à-vis the terrorists?

Can a trial serve as an example?
