The new coronavirus infected in this case is a delta mutant strain.
After gene sequencing analysis by Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention and confirmed by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus is highly homologous to the imported confirmed cases that were recently sent from the centralized isolation point to the fever observation room of Songjiang District Central Hospital for investigation and belong to the same transmission chain. The virus has low homology with recent local cases in other parts of China.
After comprehensive research and analysis by national and Shanghai experts, it is believed that the source of infection of the confirmed case can be focused on: people or environment exposed to foreign virus contamination, personal infection caused by negligence in protection.
