Two white "puppies", large and small, squatted on the table, leaning their heads and spitting out their little pink tongues, looking cute and playful.

These two lifelike bichon frises are the wool felt works that Kang Qin is currently making.

In recent years, she has used wool to "resurrect" thousands of small animals based on photos, helping pet breeders at home and abroad to leave precious memories.

Kang Qin was born in Yibin, Sichuan Province in 1987. He loved handcrafts since he was a child. When he was in elementary school, he liked to embroider various cartoon patterns on school bags with needles and threads.

She herself did not expect that when she grew up, she would develop her hobby into her own business.

In 2013, she tried to make hairpins and other wool felt accessories for sale on the Internet. An accidental opportunity led her to transform into animal simulation production.

At that time, a girl found Kang Qin's contact information on the Internet and asked if she could make a "three-dimensional schnauzer."

On the phone, the girl told Kang Qin that the dog that had been raised in the family for 17 years had passed away and wanted to have a memorial.

Considering that he was not a graduate of fine arts and had never been involved in the production of simulated animals before, Kang Qin refused.

Putting down the phone, thinking of the girl's low mood, she felt a little guilty and decided to give it a try.

Comparing the photos provided by the girl, Kang Qin conceived, selected, made, shaped, trimmed, and modeled step by step, and finally used 3 days to inlay a semi-dimensional Schnauzer on a small wooden soft frame.

Seeing Kang Qin's work, the girl couldn't help crying and told Kang Qin more stories.

This dog accompanied the girl from a fifth-grade child to a mother with a child, accompanied her childhood and youth, and witnessed important life moments such as marriage and childbirth.

Although she was ready for the dog to leave, she wanted to tell the dog, "The family will always love it."

"I also like small animals, so I can understand the feelings of guests. In our hearts, these animals are part of the family." The affection for small animals is the starting point of Kang Qin's work and the motivation for her persistence.

Later, more and more people found Kang Qin.

Some people send photos to her every year to record the growth of small animals with wool felt works; some people can not see small animals at home because of long-term business trips, so they bring wool felt small animals with them; some people cannot keep small animals due to allergies and other reasons , Let her help make favorite animals out of wool felt...

What impressed Kang Qin was that she once "resurrected" a Lovek dog that was far away in England.

A few years ago, an 80-year-old man in Edinburgh, UK, got to know Kang Qin through a boarding foreign student, and specifically contacted her to make a dog.

Through the overseas video, Kang Qin knew that this was a gift the old man wanted to give to his younger sister.

The old man’s younger sister has been with the puppy for many years. Later, the puppy died of illness, and the younger sister had no relatives to accompany her. The old man wanted to make her happy.

"Behind each work are the warm stories and precious memories of the guests. I feel very lucky to be able to collect these beautiful feelings." Kang Qin said that in order to ensure the realistic modeling, she usually carefully check the body shape and structure of small animals. After waiting for the information, I will repeatedly experience the customer's feelings towards the small animals. The "real image" is the best affirmation of her work.

With more and more orders, Kang Qin's work pressure has also increased, and some like-minded partners have also joined her manual labor.

At present, they have formed a studio of more than 10 people. According to the work cycle of different works ranging from a few days to a long period of months, they either complete them independently or work together in a division of labor.

"We will polish every detail in order to do a good job of every work, and we will do whatever we can. Because I think everything we do can bring warmth to customers."

Looking at the Bichon Frise on the table, Kang Qin took out a bunch of white wool from behind, picked up the pin header, and poked it rhythmically. She wanted to make the hair on her head more realistic.

Although she often works late into the night, she does not find it hard.

"I can take care of my family and do what I like. This is my ideal state. As a craftsman, I feel very happy." (End)
