No pass, no help.

Bruno Le Maire does not intend to give flowers to restaurant owners who "do not want to play the health pass game".

"They will not be entitled to any state aid," said the Minister of the Economy during a visit to Bayonne in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques intended to highlight the French stimulus plan for SMEs.

"It is the taxpayer who finances the solidarity fund, so I do not see how to explain to the taxpayer that he is going to finance people who cheat," he explained.

Aid for previously disadvantaged sectors

Bruno Le Maire recognizes, however, that there are sectors for which "the application of the vaccination passport can pose difficulties", like the cultural world or cinemas, "where the figures remain lower than expected".

He indicated that a meeting of stakeholders would take place on August 30, to "look at the turnover recorded, sector by sector".

"If we see that because of the health pass, there have been losses in turnover, we will support these sectors," he said.

Regarding possible abuses of companies that have benefited from state aid since the start of the crisis, he warned, on the other hand: "All abuses we identify and we punish".
