Makongo is the generic name in Sango, the language most spoken in the Central African Republic, to designate caterpillars.

They come in all colors and sizes.

Eaten fresh, fried, in sauce or dried, they represent a very profitable sector, from the pickers to the preparers, including the resellers who make the daily round trip between the capital and the forest region of Lobaye in the east of the country. .

But for lack of conservation and appropriate transformation, this annuity only exists once a year, for 3 months only.
