It turned out that a pregnant woman who was infected with the new coronavirus and was undergoing medical treatment at home in Chiba Prefecture was hospitalized, but could not find a place to accept it, and gave birth at home as it was, and her baby died.

Three days after the infection was confirmed, the health center interviewed him and found out that he was a pregnant woman. After that, he searched for a place to accept the patient as a high-priority patient but could not find it.

On this issue, the Kashiwa City Health Center held a press conference on the afternoon of the 19th and explained the details.

According to this, on the 11th of this month, it was found that a pregnant woman in her 30s, who lives alone in Matsudo City and is 8 months pregnant, is infected.

At this time, the diagnosis was mild, and there was no information about "pregnant woman" in the notification to the health center. Three days later, on the 14th, the health center interviewed him as a health observation and found out that he was a "pregnant woman."

The woman also said that she was "suffering from breathing," and that the oxygen level in her blood had dropped to 91%.

For this reason, the patient was judged to be a high-priority patient in a "moderate" state, and the health center requested the prefecture to adjust hospitalization for two days from the next 15th, but no medical institution that could handle it was found and medical treatment was continued at home. It means that it was decided.

Then, on the morning of the 17th, when the health center called again, the woman said, "There is tension in the abdomen and there is bleeding." However, I couldn't find a place to accept it, and at around 4:20 pm, the patient contacted the health center saying, "I had abdominal pain and bleeding again. Maybe it's labor pain."

After that, I searched for the prefecture and health center, but could not find it, and one hour later, at 5:20 pm, I gave birth to a baby boy at home.

Due to premature birth, urgent treatment was needed, the woman made an ambulance request herself, and the baby was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but died.

The woman is currently diagnosed with moderate disease and is hospitalized.

Health center "Difficult to accept corona patients only at medical institutions for pregnant women"

The Kashiwa City Health Center said, "It was difficult to accept corona patients, and there were only a limited number of medical institutions that could handle pregnant women, which made us unhappy." He expressed his intention to seek support for strengthening the pregnancy.

I couldn't find a place to accept consultations at 10 prefectures and public health centers.

According to the findings of Chiba Prefecture and Kashiwa City Health Center, as far as we know so far, we consulted with eight medical institutions at the prefectural coordination headquarters, but we could not make adjustments, and there are at least two health centers. I asked the office, but I couldn't find a place to deal with it.

Expert "Pregnant women need to be transported with priority"

Akihito Nakai, a managing director of the Japan Obstetrics and Gynecology Association, said, "For pregnant women who have a high degree of urgency related to childbirth, a transportation system has been established in which prefectural obstetric facilities work together to determine the recipient. However, for pregnant women infected with the new corona, there are issues with infection control, and the number of recipients is limited. This case can occur anywhere in the country, and pregnant women infected nationwide. In addition, it is said that pregnant women are more likely to become ill if they are infected with the new corona, especially in the latter half of pregnancy, even if the symptoms are not related to childbirth. Pregnant women may need to be transported with priority. "

Governor Kumagai "Consideration of support in collaboration with obstetric medical institutions"

Governor Kumagai said at a regular press conference, "We take seriously the situation where infected people, including pregnant women, cannot be hospitalized. We will cooperate with obstetric medical institutions and consider what kind of support we can provide." , Showed the idea of doing verification.

Group of obstetricians and gynecologists Confirmation of acceptance destination in advance

Pregnant women infected with the new corona need to be prepared for a Caesarean section in order to shorten the operation time as an infection control measure, and it is necessary to immediately isolate the newborn baby, so the number of hospitals that can handle it is limited. In some cases, it takes time to adjust hospitalization.

For this reason, a group of obstetricians and gynecologists in Chiba Prefecture held an urgent online meeting and confirmed that they should decide in advance where to accept them in preparation for the sudden birth of an infected pregnant woman.
