Tuesday at the end of the morning the police officers of Morlaix (Finistère) discovered the lifeless body of an 18-year-old woman in the room of a small building in the rue de Kerfraval. The latter's spouse, who shares the apartment, is actively sought but cannot be found. He finally shows up at the police station at the end of the afternoon. Placed in custody, he admits having killed his young companion. “His first statements tend to confirm that he was at the origin of the violence which led to his death. On the other hand, neither the exact circumstances, nor the reasons for this violence have at this stage been clearly explained ”, specifies the public prosecutor of Brest Camille Miansoni.
For the moment, neither the examination of the body by the forensic pathologist nor the autopsy has made it possible to determine the precise cause of death.
“The examination found several lesions, particularly to the face and neck which are likely to have caused the death.
Additional analyzes must nevertheless be carried out before determining the exact cause of death, ”adds the prosecutor.
Prolonged custody
An investigation for “murder by spouse or partner” was opened and entrusted to the urban security brigade of the Morlaix police station.
"Technicians in criminal investigations carried out the first technical and scientific police investigations," added the prosecutor in a press release.
Still in custody, the suspect will stay there for at least twenty-four hours, the time for investigators to shed light on the circumstances of the domestic homicide.
