The owner of the

Vandellòs II

nuclear power plant

(Tarragona)

has notified the

Nuclear Safety Council (CSN)

that during the periodic (monthly) execution of the test procedure of "Checking the instrumentation of the remote shutdown panel" it detected an

incorrect alignment

of the instrument PT-AB01B (steam generator line pressure transmitter B by train A).

The licensee, after declaring the transmitter inoperable, has reviewed the loop and executed the calibration procedure with the correct result,

declaring it operable again,

reports the CSN.

Given that the

anomaly had been present since June 19,

the time established in the limit operating conditions has been inadvertently exceeded, which constitutes an event to be reported within one hour.

The CSN, as established in its procedures, has informed through its website of the receipt of notification of this event, which has not had an impact on workers, the public or the environment,

With the information available to date, it is preliminarily classified with

level 0 on the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES).
