Police divers discovered a sunken car with five bodies in a lake in Saint-Raphaël in the south of France.
This is probably a group of young people who have been missing since the day before, reported the broadcaster “Franceinfo” on Wednesday.
"We are currently trying to identify them, the bodies are still in the car," said a public prosecutor's spokesman.
“It could be the young people who were reported missing by their parents after a party, but this has yet to be confirmed by formal identification.” Medical and psychological help was organized to take care of the relatives.
The police had concentrated the search on the lake, which was partly surrounded by rocky slopes, after wreckage of the wanted white small car had been found on the edge.
The investigators assume an accident.
As the newspaper "Nice-Matin" reported, there are four young men and one woman aged 19 and 20 years.
Some of them are said to have drunk alcohol at the party beforehand.
