[Explanation] Ancient books are the carrier of culture, the testimony of years. After thousands of years of tempering, paper breakage is inevitable. It is not difficult to replace this broken ancient book with the old, but it is a technical job to repair the old as the old.

The book in my hand is a book from the Ming Dynasty. For me, it is more difficult to repair, because it has poor storage conditions and has not reached constant temperature and humidity, so it flocculates. In the process of repairing, it is dipped in pulp. The water paper will be rolled up, so it is more difficult to repair.

[Explanation] The "doctor" who introduced the "condition" of ancient books to reporters is nearly sixty years old. She has been engaged in the restoration of ancient books since she was 20 years old. Now 40 years have passed, but whenever she recalls the first restoration When an ancient book, my heart is still excited.

I went to Shanghai Library Science from September 1983 to June (19) to restore the ancient books of Shanghai Library Science. After I came back from the repair (study), I did not engage in this work temporarily. In 1992, the Ningxia Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology invited me to participate. Their restoration of the long scroll of Buddhist scriptures unearthed from the two pagodas at the entrance of the temple in 1991 and the restoration of "Auspicious Everywhere to the Mouth and the Sutra".

At that time, the conditions were relatively poor, there were no tools, and the degree of damage to the books was relatively large.

At that time, the restoration was completed in 2 months. It was exhibited at the Ningxia Museum that year. I went to see it. I didn't know that I was repairing a national first-class cultural relic. After I finished it, I think this work is very important to me.

[Explanation] Except for the cultural relics displayed in the museum, the road to ancient books restoration is long and boring. Yin Guanghua's time is repeated, repeating slow work and careful work, and repairing books as well.

I have been engaged in the restoration of ancient books for nearly 40 years. I think this work is the first for me. It can protect and inherit Chinese traditional culture. The second is that I think it is a kind of precipitation for my character and knowledge accumulation.

[Explanation] There are currently about 50 million ancient books in China, and nearly one-third of them need to be repaired. This cannot be done overnight. Inheritance and continuity are the top priorities.

Yin Guanghua not only repaired the ancient books with his own hands, but also moved the colleagues around him.

Because I will retire next year, I hope that the work of restoration of ancient books will be passed on in our library. So now there are several colleagues in our library who also like restoration of ancient books. We are studying the restoration of ancient books together.

I just hope that they can settle down, be able to withstand their loneliness, and do this (item) work better.
