[Explanation] Hong Kong middle school students are optimistic about the development of the motherland, and the number of students going to the mainland for further studies continues to rise.

According to the latest data, as of mid-June 2021, a total of 4783 Hong Kong secondary school graduates who passed the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education and enrolled in mainland universities in 2021, an increase of nearly 20% year-on-year, reached a nine-year high.

On the contrary, the number of candidates for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education in 2021 hit a nine-year low.

  [Explanation] Luo Yongxiang, an expert on further studies in the Mainland of Hong Kong and the principal of Xiangdao Technical College, has assisted Hong Kong students in promoting their studies in the Mainland since 2002.

Recently, in an interview with a reporter from China News Service, he said that the academic qualifications in the Mainland have now become a positive and value-added element. Many students who have completed their majors in the Mainland and returned to work in Hong Kong have developed quite well.

  Mainland graduates are popular in Hong Kong (employment). Many major international investment firms in Hong Kong have chief executives who graduated from mainland universities. You should be aware that many of them, including HSBC and Goldman Sachs, are graduates from mainland universities.

Therefore, in many industries, academic qualifications in the Mainland are already a value-added role.

  [Explanation] Luo Yongxiang believes that in the long run, as the gold content of the mainland's academic qualifications increases year by year and the promotion and implementation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong students who go to the mainland for further studies will have a broader space for development.

Everyone also finds that Hong Kong's industrial structure was relatively single in the past, but if we look at the entire Greater Bay Area, we have a lot of room for development.

Luo Yongxiang said that studying in the Mainland can truly allow Hong Kong students to experience the life in the Mainland and bring them a view of the country, which is not possible in Hong Kong.
