To celebrate Nöjesteatern in Malmö's 80th anniversary, the operetta Glada änkan would be staged, with a premiere in September 2020. However, the performance had to be postponed due to the pandemic and is now planned to premiere in September 2021.
The main characters are Frida Engström, Thomas Järvheden and Lars-Åke "Babsan" Wilhelmsson.
"Nothing dramatic at all"
The legendary Jan Malmsjö, who made his stage debut in Folkparken in Malmö, would also return to the city for a role as Monsieur Lapidius.
But the 89-year-old actor and singer announced during the summer that he is leaving.
- It was over two years since we agreed with Jan, but after this tough year we have behind us, he and his wife Marie have come to the conclusion that he should continue to take it easy.
It is not dramatic at all, but it is about a self-insight when it is approaching, says Emelie Löfmark at Nöjesteatern to Sydsvenskan.
