In particular, he injured five firefighters whose truck was caught in the flames.

One of them is seriously affected, according to the Aude prefecture.

The flames also led to the evacuation of several hamlets as a preventive measure.

On the same night, a second fire broke out, still in the Corbières, in the town of Durban.

It was fixed after having ravaged 20 hectares of scrubland.

Finally, Tuesday evening around 7 p.m., a new fire was reported closer to the coast, in Peyriac-sur-Mer.

It was quickly brought under control but it led to the closure of the A9 motorway for three hours, between Narbonne and Perpignan, where traffic jams formed.
