Mitsubishi Electric, which has been fraudulent in inspections of air conditioners for railways for many years, has newly revealed that the switchboard manufactured at the factory in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture was also fraudulent in the pre-shipment inspection.

For products for railway companies and government offices, some tests related to durability, etc., which had been agreed with our business partners, were omitted or conducted in a different way.

The fraud was discovered last month by a factory employee, who shipped more than 4,500 units in the 25 years from 1996 to last month.

The company says that it has confirmed that there are no safety issues, but it will carry out inspections if requested by its business partners.
