(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) Hong Kong does not reduce the quarantine period by antibody positive: adjust according to time conditions

China News Service, Hong Kong, August 17 (Reporter Zeng Ping) The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, met with the media before attending an executive meeting on the 17th, saying that Hong Kong will tighten its anti-epidemic policy and cancel the mandatory quarantine after arrival based on antibody positive. Schedule.

She believes that the SAR government needs to adjust anti-epidemic measures to avoid a new wave of epidemics.

Carrie Lam said that after the fourth wave of the epidemic in November last year ended, she announced a new direction for the fight against the epidemic in April this year, hoping to maintain social distancing measures without the need to "tighten times and loosen up", and try to allow citizens to enter and exit Hong Kong as much as possible.

The SAR government subsequently adopted expert opinion. If the blood antibody test result is positive, the arrival in Hong Kong can shorten the quarantine period at the designated quarantine hotel.

She pointed out that this new policy is only applicable to Hong Kong residents in the first phase. As long as they do not return to Hong Kong from designated high-risk areas, the quarantine period for people who have been vaccinated and tested positive for blood antibodies can be reduced to 7 days.

However, because people with antibodies in their bodies have recently been diagnosed during the quarantine period or even after the quarantine period, the SAR government needs to adjust the relevant measures according to the current conditions.

Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that she hopes to do more tightly on "foreign import prevention". Except for the lowest-risk areas, the quarantine period for arrivals from other regions will not be less than 14 days.

She said that the SAR government will adjust its policies to respond to citizens' demands.

I believe that in the future, we will need to constantly review the measures and make adjustments when necessary.

As of August 16, the inoculation rate of the first dose of the new crown vaccine in Hong Kong was about 55%.

Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that so far, professional opinions believe that vaccination is the only way out. If vaccination has been taken, the severity and mortality of the infection will be low.

She once again urged the public to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
