The Board of Trustees of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award has approved 19 works that will honor their owners by giving them “medals of excellence”, presented by the award for the tenth “humanitarian” session, in honor of the quality of their participation in this session, in addition to gifting them the yearbook of the session. The same, which contains the winning and nominated photos, in addition to the photos whose owners were awarded the aforementioned medals of excellence.

The Secretary-General of the award, Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, said: “These medals are a certificate of appreciation for these photographers, who presented fine works that deserved to reach the final stages of arbitration, so the award’s board of trustees decided to give them this deserved commendation for their work as a kind of encouragement and recognition of the high competitiveness of their participating works. And we are happy that three Arab photographers have received this honor, indicative of the continuous development of the seriousness of the Arab photographer in dealing with the art of photography and its techniques.”

Bin Thalith added: “With the desire of the Award’s Board of Trustees to give a wider opportunity to crown more distinguished photographs, the outcomes of the judging process, which was led by a group of the most prominent photography experts in the world, chose a group of images that received high ratings to be praised and honored. Personally, I consider this honor a (suspended victory), which is one of the highest types of motivation for photographers.”

Three works were selected on the "Humanity" axis, and six files on the "Photograph File" axis, in addition to 10 works from the "General" axis, including six colored works and four black and white works.

A piece of art

The medals presented to the distinguished in the tenth "Humanitarian" cycle, are a polished, nickel-plated piece of art with a diameter of 15 cm, and the name of the award is engraved on it in both languages.

The medal was designed by the Emirati artist, Matar bin Lahej, and was made by the famous "Thomas Vatorini" in the United Kingdom.
