Li Cheng said: "This season is our busiest season every year, because this season is the best time to catch fish, we are around 700 kilograms every day."

From August to October every year, Bosten Lake’s autumn harvesting season is the golden season. In order to protect Bosten Lake’s fishery resources and avoid overfishing, the local area controls the total amount of harvest during the autumn harvesting season at about 1,100 tons.

Relying on the implementation of the local global tourism strategy, the fishermen are not just a single fishing operation, they have begun to develop diversifiedly, and have opened farmhouses and fishermen's amusement.

Li Cheng introduced that in the past it was fishing and selling fish. Now the county has started tourism and relatives have opened their own farmhouses.

Bosten Lake is the largest fishery production base in Xinjiang.

In recent years, the local area has continuously strengthened the ecological protection of Bosten Lake, implemented the ecological fishery model of human free-raising, and invested in the implementation of a large number of ecological restoration projects such as the construction of the upstream water source of Bosten Lake and the biological quality inspection of the wetland around the lake.

The water body of Bosten Lake has been significantly improved. At present, there are more than 30 fish species in Bosten Lake, with an annual output of about 4,000 tons.

Li Chenliang, deputy director of the Production Management Department of Xinjiang Bosten Lake Ecological Fishery Co., Ltd., said: “During the fishing process, we require fishermen to catch large and release small. At the same time, we also carry out multiplication and release activities every year to ensure the sustainable development of fishery resources. This year, Bosten Lake is organic. The fish are generally larger than in previous years, each weighing about ten kilograms, and the market demand is relatively large. Basically, they are booked before they are released." (End)
