The epidemic is raging, so don’t be cautious about “concealing reports”

What I want to reiterate is that since the epidemic has developed to the present, no matter whether it is a government agency or an individual, there should be no more fluke of concealment.

On August 14, the news of “ineffective control of the epidemic situation in Yucheng County, Shangqiu, Henan and suspected of under-reporting” aroused concern.

On August 15th, the local area issued another notification stating that because the newly confirmed case Yin and his family did not report his actual itinerary in a timely and true manner, the epidemic prevention and control measures failed to follow up in time, resulting in a rebound in the epidemic situation in Shangqiu City. In this regard, the local has launched an investigation.

"It's all this time, still concealing the itinerary?" This became the common reaction of many people to this matter.

Although local officials are still investigating the relevant details, it is necessary to reiterate that both government agencies and individuals should understand that there should be no chance of concealing the epidemic until now.

If concealment occurs, it will not only deviate from the role ethics of oneself in the context of epidemic prevention, but also destroy the overall situation of the fight against the epidemic.

Since the emergence of this round of the epidemic, similar situations have happened occasionally. The previous "Mrs. Mao" concealed her itinerary and infected more than 100 people in Yangzhou. This has been suspected of obstructing the prevention and control of infectious diseases.

In fact, during the critical period, even if it is a delay in reporting, it may indirectly press the "accelerator" for the spread of the epidemic.

"Publicity is also a'vaccine' to stop the epidemic," hiding and covering the lid will be of no benefit except delaying the best time to quickly cut off the chain of the spread of the epidemic.

In other words, concealment is to “leverage” the consequences of the spread of the epidemic, and it will “assist” the spread of the epidemic from point to line to face.

Take Yucheng as an example. There are many high- and medium-risk areas in the area, some high-speed toll stations are closed, and all individual clinics are closed. Such a chain reaction will hardly not give rise to the problem of "if they don't conceal the itinerary".

If the report is truthfully reported, will the social cost of “patching” the previous mistakes be much smaller? This is a question that the parties cannot avoid and should be confronted directly.

It should be noted that under the pattern of national epidemic prevention, the "fault tolerance rate" at the national level, whether it is concealed to locals or individuals, is extremely low.

my country’s Law on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases clearly stipulates that no concealment, false reporting, or delayed reporting of the epidemic situation of infectious diseases is prohibited. Serious circumstances may violate the criminal law and constitute a crime.

According to judicial interpretations, concealment, delay in reporting, false reporting or instigating, instructing, forcing others to conceal, delay reporting, false reporting of the epidemic situation or disaster situation, causing the spread of infection or the situation of the epidemic situation or disaster situation aggravated, are considered "serious circumstances."

This doesn't just apply to individuals.

Prior to this, my country's ability to achieve widely recognized anti-epidemic results was also related to active, efficient, open, and transparent anti-epidemic measures.

In this context, concealment out of luck can only backfire.

Especially in the context of the epidemic prevention and control entering a critical period, the epidemic prevention and control must guard against the "thousand-mile dike, collapsed in the ant's nest", and no slippage is allowed. Some are going against the requirements of "strictly, tightly, meticulously and practically". The behavior must be zero tolerance.

In the final analysis, under the current situation, epidemic prevention and control not only requires active responsibility and initiative at the local level, but also requires each individual to put himself in the context of epidemic prevention and control to consider issues.

No matter who they are, they must put their minds on epidemic prevention rather than concealment. After all, all concealment can only be used to cover up the ears and steal the bell, which is not only forbidden by epidemic prevention, but also forbidden by the law.
