Soviet and Russian composer, People's Artist of Russia Mikael Tariverdiev was born in Georgia on August 15, 1931. He composed his first works while still a schoolboy. Among them are the ballets "On the Shore" and "Interrogation". In subsequent years, Tariverdiev often wrote music for performances, vocal cycles based on poems by Bella Akhmadulina, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Andrei Voznesensky and other poets, worked on operas and concerts for various instruments. Mikael Tariverdiev's music sounds in many Soviet films, including such popular films as "Seventeen Moments of Spring", "The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!" and "Welcome, or No unauthorized entry".
