Thieves storm the palace of the Emir of Qatar in France.. and steal watches and valuable parts


Thieves, one of them armed, stormed on Thursday night, Friday, the palace of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, near the French resort of Cannes, and seized watches and other valuables, a source close to the file said on Friday.


The source said that Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad was not present when four people stormed his house in Mouines-Sarto on Thursday night, Friday, confirming a news broadcast by RTL radio.


He added that the theft was carried out without violence, explaining that the thieves "did not put a gun to the heads of the people who were in the palace," but that these "subjected to the thieves' orders when they saw the weapon."


He explained that the thieves stole "valuable pieces, especially watches." 


Sheikh Tamim was not present at the time of the incident, but a number of his family members were at home. 


A number of law enforcement agencies in the cities of Grasse, Nice and Marseille have opened an investigation.
