Last week, we looked at how African economies were responding to the Covid-19 health disaster.
This caused the first continental recession in 25 years.
Today we will continue this momentum with one of the great voices of the contemporary economy.

Carlos Lopes is now Professor of Economics at the University of Cape Town.
When the borders are open, he also teaches at Sciences-Po Paris and at the Royal Institute of Foreign Affairs in London.
Until recently, he headed the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
He has just published a book entitled “
Africa is the future of the world, rethinking development
”.
In France, it is published by Éditions du Seuil, a translation from English by Cyril Le Roy.
In this book, all the major questions that African citizens ask themselves about the economic and political state of their continent are raised.
In this program, we are therefore going to talk about Industrialization, Agriculture, New technologies, new development paradigm.
But we'll talk about all of this in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

► In the DRC, the activity of small and medium-sized enterprises is slowing down, unemployment is increasing and the income of the population is falling, in a country where the poverty rate is already 73.1% according to the World Bank.
It is a report in Lubumbashi, the economic capital of the DRC, which is signed by our correspondent

Eco consequences of the pandemic in the DRC
► The Malian economy is largely dependent on its oil consumption.
The use of renewable energies being limited, the importation of hydrocarbons is vital for the companies of the country.
However, it is in the transport sector that the impact of the variation in the price of a barrel on the international market is most visible.
