The incidence (AI) of the coronavirus in Spain continues to decline.

This Thursday it stands at 483.12 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, after dropping 20 points in one day and 131 in a week

.

It is below 500, something that has not happened since July 14.

Health has also confirmed 17,410 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, a figure slightly higher than that notified on Wednesday (17,023).

This small increase does not, however, presage a change in the transmission's downward direction.

The seven-day incidence, which is precisely the marker that indicates rapid changes in trend, has decreased by eight points in the last day and falls to 205.03.

AI continues to decline at a good rate among young people, who have starred in most of the infections during the fifth wave.

In the age group most affected now, those between 12 and 19 years old, it has fallen 48 points in the last hours, standing at 1,043.36.

And in those between 20 and 29 years old it has dropped 63 points, standing at 992.83.

These declines are decisive to stop the spread of the virus, as well as the continuous advance of vaccination.

There are already

29,221,276 people in Spain with the complete course of the anticovid vaccine (61.6% of the population)

and 34,196,761 have at least one dose (72.1%).

Fewer deaths are also being recorded every day.

This afternoon Health has reported 87 new, six less than on Wednesday.

With them, there are already 82,407 deaths confirmed by coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The situation by communities is increasingly equal.

Only Asturias maintains its incidence below 300 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (283.38).

Apart from the Principality, the lowest AI data is found in the Canary Islands (406.21), the Valencian Community (406.40), Murcia (423.36), Ceuta (423.98) and Catalonia (442.94).

On the contrary, the regions with the worst data are the Balearic Islands (648.89), La Rioja (594.22), Navarra (562.77), the Basque Country (548.93) and Melilla (540.91).

Good news is also coming from the hospitals.

The total occupancy by Covid patients drops to 8.06% (there are 9,478 people admitted, 342 less than on Wednesday) and

in the Intensive Care Units (ICU), the percentage falls to 20.79%

(on Wednesday it was 21.06%).

The autonomous regions with the highest saturation in ICUs are Catalonia (43.91%), Madrid (31.96%), the Balearic Islands (28.32%) and Ceuta (23.53%).

On the opposite side, the most relaxed are Murcia (5.83%), Galicia (7.08%), Extremadura (9.04%) and Asturias (10.74%).

It must be borne in mind that these data only reflect the occupation of beds by Covid patients.

In the ICUs of all the territories there are also patients with other pathologies and surgeries.

In Europe, the United Kingdom is the only country with an incidence greater than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (564.7).

Spain, despite the decreases, is second in AI (483.12), followed by France (472.1) and Ireland (407.8).

The countries with the lowest data are Poland (5.5), Romania (14.2), Czech Republic (23.1), Ukraine (26.9) and Germany (49.1).
