A duo between Amir and Sia?

The project seems impossible.

However, the French artist has achieved one of his wildest dreams: singing into the same microphone as the Australian adulated around the world.

In the program "The Summer Club" on Europe 1, Thursday, Amir tells how the two singers met and decided to work together.

INTERVIEW

If we had promised singer Amir that he would sing the same song as Sia, he wouldn't have believed it.

The French artist has yet released, almost a month ago now,

1 + 1

, a new title in duet with the international singer.

A dream come true, in short.

In the studio of Europe 1, for the program

Le Club de été

, Amir recounts this incredible adventure.

Cap on his head, guitar in hand and above all a black T-shirt with "Sia" written on it in red, Amir still can't believe it.

The French singer has been on cloud nine since

1 + 1

, in a duet with Sia.

"I wouldn't have the opportunity all my life to promote a song with her," he jokes, justifying his outfit.

Before adding, more seriously: "It is not as a fan but as a proud artist that I wear this thing."

"We got to know each other and we decided to do a song together"

Proud, therefore, to have crossed paths with Sia, the interpreter of

Chandelier, Cheap Thrills

or

Elastic

Hearts. These three cumulative titles also exceed 2.4 billion views on YouTube, just that.

And the meeting happened a bit by chance, via social networks. “One day, on a TV show, I was asked to sing a song for Women's Rights Day. I chose

Sia's

Unstoppable

: An Hymn to Female Strength. The next day, I had one. notification on my phone where it said 'Sia relayed your video' ", says Amir. At first, the singer believes in a hoax. Finally, he thanks Sia and talks to her. Then, "we got to know each other and we decided to do a song together," he says with a smile from ear to ear.

Because of the coronavirus health crisis, the duo could not be in the same studio. "On the other hand, there are a lot of exchanges between us and a real desire to bring this project to the world", assures Amir. The title does not appear on the French singer's album, released too early, in October 2020. But it could be included in his reissue. "Soon," Amir promises.
