A new pose for the popular character "Hikonyan" from Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture was announced, and Hikonyan was designed to hug the gold medal to celebrate the fact that Yui Ohashi, a native player, won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Hikone City has registered four pose designs such as "sitting" and "jumping" as trademarks of Hikonyan, but this month it is trying to boost the local economy that is depressed by the corona damage by increasing the designs that can be used for souvenirs etc. For half a year, we will announce new poses one by one every month.

Unfortunately it was raining on the 12th, but Hikonyan wore a raincoat and appeared in a performance at Hikone Castle, announcing a new pose.

The new pose is designed so that Hikonyan hugs the gold medal in celebration of Yui Ohashi, a local player, winning two gold medals in the women's individual medley of the Tokyo Olympics.

In the center of the gold medal, Hikonyan wearing a swimming cap and a swimsuit is drawn.

According to Hikone City, Ohashi was so fond of wearing socks with Hikonyan drawn before the race that Hikonyan was showing off butterflies and crawls at the presentation venue.

The illustration of the new pose can be used for a limited time until the end of March next year if you apply to Hikone City.
