Chinanews.com, Hong Kong, August 11 (Reporter Zeng Ping) The nomination period for the general election of the 2021 Election Committee (EC) subsector in Hong Kong officially started on August 6 and ended on August 12.
On August 11, people from various sectors continued to register at the headquarters of the SAR Government.
At about 16 o'clock in the afternoon, representatives of the Hong Kong business community went to the SAR government headquarters to register for the business (first) sector.
Wang Dongsheng, Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, and Lin Jianfeng, a business councillor of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, accompanied industry representatives to register.
It is reported that Lu Chongmao, the dean of the Shenzhen Hospital of the University of Hong Kong, signed up to participate in the medical and health services sector in the morning; the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Legislative Council Xie Weiquan also accompanied a 15-member team composed of surveyor Lai Xuhui to sign up for the election for architecture, surveying, urban planning and Garden realm.
The general election of the 2021 Election Committee subsector will be held on September 19.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Candidate Qualification Review Committee will complete the work of checking whether nominated persons are eligible before August 26.
As of August 10, the number of candidate nomination forms and designated body nomination forms received by the Returning Officer were 913 and 38 respectively.
